Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 28, 2026.

This page explains which cookies may be set when you visit CalculatriceTaxes.ca, what they are for and how to refuse them. The French version of this page prevails if the two versions differ.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser. It lets a site or a third-party service recognise a browser from one visit to the next.

The calculator does not need them

The amounts you enter are calculated in your browser. They are not sent to our servers and no cookie is used to remember them. Blocking all cookies does not stop the calculator from working.

Analytics cookies

We use two tools to see which pages are read and to spot display problems:

  • Google Analytics 4 (Google): _ga and _ga_* cookies, kept for up to 2 years, which tell visitors and sessions apart;
  • Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft): _clck (up to 1 year) and _clsk (1 day) cookies, which group the pages of one visit. Clarity records clicks and scrolling in anonymised form; input fields are masked.

Advertising cookies

The site is funded by advertising. Third-party ad networks, including Adsterra and, where applicable, Google as a third-party vendor, may set their own cookies to show ads, limit repetition and measure results. Those cookies fall under each network's own policy, and Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this or other websites.

How to refuse or delete cookies

  • In your browser: the privacy settings of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge let you block third-party cookies and delete those already stored.
  • Google personalised ads: turn them off in Google Ads Settings.
  • Other networks: use the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada's AdChoices tool.
  • Google Analytics: Google's opt-out add-on blocks measurement on every site.

Refusing advertising cookies does not remove ads; they simply become less personalised.
